1800's Jack Allen Oversized Oval Photo and Frame

1800's Jack Allen Oversized Oval Photo and Frame

Jack Allen, born Cyrus Alban, was a MLB pitcher and player in the late 19th century. Prior to 1879 he played for the Syracuse Stars, in 1879 he became a free agent and signed with the Cleveland Blues. The oversized oval portrait quality photograph measures 13x19" and is in EX condition, especially considering the age of the image. The sepia tone photograph has retained good color and tonal quality and since it appears to have remained in this frame for most of its life, it shows no wrinkles or tears of any kind. It is an extraordinary image of one of baseball's early league players. .
