1860's Baseball Bat (36")
Civil War-era bat marks the earliest stage of evolution of the game's vaunted offensive weapon. As is the case with bats from this era, there are no trademarks or manufacturer's logos. Baseball was far too "grassroots," and all bats were handmade by carpenters and tradesmen. Note the minimal tapering from barrel to handle. This is also very typical of the age. Expected wear is evident, but bat is still very solid and perfect for display. Pair it with a lemon-peel ball for a great historical look.
