1865 First Baseball Cigar Label

1865 First Baseball Cigar Label

The earliest tobacco label relating to the National Game. Fabulous full-color label is for a brand of cigars known as La Americana. Depicts 1860's baseball scene in marvelous colors. This label dates from 1865 based on the findings of tobacco experts and through the dating of similar labels from other subjects. Not only is this the first ever baseball tobacco advertising, it is also one of the earliest known baseball advertising pieces (if not the earliest?). Rebacked for support, o/w EX+. Measures 3.5x5.5".
