1866 Baseball Certificate

Fascinating piece of 19th century baseball lore is an early contract, decorated with hand drawn graphics of period gentlemen playing baseball. Official document is partially handwritten: "This is to Certify that Mr. D.D. Domer was duly elected a member of the Keystone Base Ball Club of Harrisburg on the 7th day of May, 1866. Attest - [signed] Robt. Snodgrass (President) and W.J. Torrington (secretary). Signatures in black fountain ink are bold and legible, grading "9" out of a possible 10. All graphics are still nicely bold. Apparent Excellent condition except for some creasing around the edges. Double matted to 21x16.5", framed to 27x23.5".
