An unbelievable rare albumen photo of James O'Rourke's first pro team. In the annals of professional baseball, few names from the 19th century stand out as immortals. Such a player was James O'Rourke. He boasted a lifetime batting average of .310 and he was a prominent member of the Boston Red Stockings and in 1879, leading the league with 62 RBI's while batting .348. Outstanding team photo of James O'Rourke's first pro team, the Middletwon Mansfields. This was the team's only year of existence. Nine players are pictured including O'Rourke as catcher.
