1880's Baseball Occupational Shaving Mug

1880's Baseball Occupational Shaving Mug

Splendid 19th century shaving mug belonged to a ball player of the era. Men would keep their own personal mugs at the barbershop in those days for their own personal use. Those with the desire (and cash) would have their occupation hand painted in full-color designs. Baseball mugs are among the rarest and most desirable of the "occupational shaving mugs." They are equally desired by shaving mug and barber collectors as well as baseball collectors. Marvelous crossed bats and baseball design leads the mug. The name of the player, "H.C. Henry" is hand painted on the side in brilliant gold leaf design. Bottom is marked with the name of the illustrator. Startling EX-MT.
