1888 Benjamin Harrison Campaign Top Hat

1888 Benjamin Harrison Campaign Top Hat

The 1888 presidential election was notable for being the third of only four in which the winner of the electoral college did not win the popular vote. Benjamin Harrison defeated incumbent Grover Cleveland, and presumably wore this handsome chapeau which was specifically produced for the campaign. It features a color lithograph inside with Harrison and Levi Morton pictured with the phrase "PROTECTION TO AMERICAN INDUSTRIES." The artifact is in EX condition.
