1907 Chicago Cubs World Series Medallion Presented to George Howard

1907 Chicago Cubs World Series Medallion Presented to George Howard

From the glory days of the Chicago Cubs franchise comes this gift of absolute beauty and utmost significance. Born out of one of the last seasons the Chicago franchise would taste true glory, this imposing gold medallion (1.5”) houses an impressive raised image of a bear with ruby red eye, holding a rather conspicuous diamond in its jaws. “World’s Champions” surrounds perimeter in raised block lettering and two small raised crossed bats & baseball logos flank the round medallion. The inner circle is a convex glove with the year “1907” below the cub’s mouth. This glorious and stunning genuine article was presented to Chicago Cubs’ George Howard and is beautifully engraved in script on verso: "Presented to George E. Howard, member Chicago National League Ball Club, by The National Commission for winning the 1907 World’s Base Ball Championship.” Just stunning with almost no wears, NRMT. Comes with letter documentation in the form of a typed signed letter to Howard from the National Commission, dated and typed on “The National Commission” letterhead. In original mailing envelope and also comes with an original blueprint for the medallion. This is a fetching museum-quality piece that any Cubs fan, or true historian would die for. Absent is the chain from which it once hung, although the loop is perfectly intact.
