1916-17 Cleveland Indians Photo Collection (7)
A fabulous group of 7 vintage Cleveland Indians photos - (2) team photos with a few of Ivon Howard, plus 2 newspaper supplements for The Sunday Leader & the Cleveland Plain Dealer - both displaying montages of the Indians. Team photos include Speaker, Gandle, Covaleskie, Wambsganss, Chapman, Smith, & Gandil. The 1917 team photo was taken by famous Cleveland photographer, Van Oeyen. One photo shows Howard in follow through, sporting the 1916 uniform which displayed his number patch on the sleeve. The Indians were the first to try this practice, but discontinued it after that season. Photos range in size from 4x6” to 19x11”. VG to EX.
