1908 Full World Series Ticket at Detroit

1908 Full World Series Ticket at Detroit

Important and extremely scarce Gem-Mint ticket to the 1908 World Series. This was the World Series that defined baseball's first dynasty. Since then, the Chicago Cubs have not been able to win a Championship, having entered the post season only once (1945). Successfully shutting down the AL's top hitters, Ty Cobb & Sam Crawford, the Cubs were able to steal the show again in their third consecutive World Series appearance, pulling off another impressive defeat of the Tigers. Cobb was only 20 years of age at the time, and reeling off the victory of his first of many batting crowns. Unused ticket to Game 3 in Detroit, was unfortunately never used. This would have been Game 6 of the World Series, but the Tigers lost in 5 in Bennet Park in front of a record low World Series crowd (only 6,210 fans filled the stands). Offered in unmatched condition, purple ticket measures 4x2”.
