1908 Multi Signed Frank Chance Banquet Program w/ Tinker, Chance & Johnny "Merkle" Evers

1908 Multi Signed Frank Chance Banquet Program w/ Tinker, Chance & Johnny "Merkle" Evers

A highly valued rarity is this signed banquet program and menu from Frank Chance’s 1908 dinner in honor of the Chicago Cubs. This marks the last time in history that the Cubs won a World Championship. Title page boasts a photo of Chance with the sentiment: “Frank L. Chance and his Cubs by Admiring Chicago fans - Tip-Top Inn, Chicago, October 16th, 1908. Remarkable signed program displays 42 vintage pencil signatures within its pages which encompasses the near complete 1908 Chicago Cubs team with others, including the most vital of Chicago Cubs signatures in history - Tinker, Evers (signed, “Johnny ‘Merkle’ Evers) & Chance. These are the most coveted Cubs signatures in existence, reminding us of the once dominant Chicago dynasty - baseball’s original dynasty who claimed 6 pennants in the National League’s first 11 seasons. Other signatures include Chas Weegman, Henry Sturtevant, Pat Moran, John Kling, Orval Overall, Kenesaw Mountain Landis, Mordecai Brown, & Jack Pfeister. Although signed in pencil, the signatures are quite bold, grading 8-9 out of a possible 10, and with the presence of baseball’s ultimate double play trio, this is one you simply can’t pass up. Program is EX except for some scrapbook damage on the back cover. Includes original seating chart for banquet.
