Rare and highly desirable fireplace andiron in shape of baseball player shows brilliant craftsmanship and detail. Very unusual to see this in its original gold paint. Its “P.S. & W. Co” stamping on the back is sharper than any specimens we have seen, which tells us that this was one of the first ever made from the original cast. This wonderful character in full uniform holding bat is correct in every detail with respect to the baseball players at the turn of the century. NRMT. Missing the metal piece that fits in and sits at the fireside (a standard, generic piece that can be easily replaced).
