1916 Eddie Plank Signed Three Page Handwritten Letter

1916 Eddie Plank Signed Three Page Handwritten Letter

Here we have an incredible three page handwritten letter from left handed pitcher Eddie Plank to his wife, dated September 6, 1916. The content of the letter is a recounting of recent events, and a simple update on his latest road trip wherein he focuses primarily on baseball and of course the events surrounding his current trek. The letter is written with a steel tip fountain pen in black ink on stationary from the Hotel Cadillac in Detroit, Michigan. The pen pressure is solid and the writing clear and legible. The paper and ink quality is NRMT with two fold lines evident from the letter having been inserted into an envelope and mailed, but otherwise the three pages are devoid of creasing and have solid clean edges. It is simply signed "Ed" and is truly a one of a kind find. It is quite the challenge to find anything signed by Plank let alone three complete pages of personally handwritten text. What a phenomenal treasure. LOA.
