1922 National Champion California Golden Bears Game Ball

1922 National Champion California Golden Bears Game Ball

Offered is a California Golden Bears championship game ball with the names of players listed on the ball, some legible and some very difficult to make out. Includes Stew Beam, Muggs Van Sant, Brick Muller and more. The 1920s was first golden age of California football, as the Golden Bears won 50 straight games without a defeat from 1920 to 1925. The 1922 team was so amazing that they were nicknamed "The Wonder Team," and the greatest player from that squad, whose name is included on this ball, is Harold "Brick" Muller. He is extremely important as are some of the other players listed. The Helms Athletic Foundation associated with the Helms Hall Museum, determined this team to be the greatest in football history. The ball is a Spalding Inter Collegiate ball and it is worn from the ages but still a nice specimen. From the collection of the esteemed Helms Hall Sports Museum and will come with letter of provenance/authenticity from Lelands.com. NOTE: Could very well be from a famous event, or from a special donor. Many of the Helms pieces were unidentified with their source information having been lost through the years.
