1930s-50s Original Science Fiction Illustrations (4)
Four wonderful paintings are mixed medium on board. From the collection of Forrest J. Ackerman, all appear to have been published or potential covers to magazines or early paperback books (fun research to be done there!). They average about 7x9”. Overall EX. Includes 1) “Marooned Astronaut” believed to be by Albert Nuetzell and is a marvelous treatment of space and its loneliness. 2) “Beyond The Stars” by Bob Juanillo is a marvelous fantasy treatment likely for a children’s book cover. 3) “Alien with Child” is by an unknown artist but has that Norm Saunders <i>Mars Attacks</i> influence. <i>Outer Limits-</i>type treatment of alien clutching a child. 4) “Man With A Green Shadow” believed to be by Albert Nuetzell. A wonderful 1950s EC Comics look. <i>Twilight Zone</i> look is mysterious and edgy. Albert Nuetzell was an important illustrator for numerous science fiction magazines and pocket books. He is perhaps best remembered for his covers for the early <i>Famous Monsters of Filmland</i>.
