1935 Cab Calloway "Baltimore Boy Makes Good" Award Trophy

This award was presented to Cab Calloway in 1935, as the jazz great is most remembered for his association with the Cotton Club in NYC, the premier jazz venue in the world. Handsome award, the silver plate measures 21", with fine patina on the silver from the years, amazing, handsome inscription, "To Cab Calloway A Tribute to a Baltimore boy From the Citizens of Baltimore By the Druid Hill Avenue Branch YMCA April 16, 1935." Includes a hand harp at the top, a common musical symbol. This heavy silver plate with a black wooden base comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Bunch Auctions stating the legitimacy of the consignment that came from the family of Cab Calloway.
