1969 The Doors at Dinner Key Auditorium Poster

1969 The Doors at Dinner Key Auditorium Poster

This wasn't exactly the kind of exposure a band seeks. The Doors got a little more publicity than they would have liked on March 1, 1969 as they were playing the sweltering Dinner Key Auditorium in the Coconut Grove section of Miami. The venue - which was akin to an old airplane hangar - was overcrowded, and bereft of air conditioning. At the end of the band's set, members of the crowd rushed the stage and lead singer Jim Morrison reportedly exposed himself to a female fan, landing him in hot water with the authorities and temporarily threatening the band's future. Here's a semi-psychedelic, red-white-and-black poster from that infamous night with the distinctive Doors logo on the bottom right, along with the date, city and venue listed. Printed on heavy paper stock, it measures roughly 13" x 20" and is in EX-MT condition with some minor corner wear.
