1940 Miss America Sash
"In the Mood" was the big hit record in 1940. And watching the beauties sashaying across the stage at the Miss America Pageant got lots of men in the mood, that's for sure. Here's an original sash worn by one of the Top 15 contestants: Miss Delaware - Peggy E. Insolo. The 34"-long yellow sash is in EX condition and the lot includes her rosette and place card. That year's winner would turn out to be Frances Marie Burke of Philadelphia.
