1940s Zig Zag Thermometer

1940s Zig Zag Thermometer

Rolling your own had a different connotation back in the days when this vintage lithographed tin advertisement made its debut in 1946. The thermometer no longer works as the mercury container is missing, but the vibrant color and cartoon images of a bearded, hooded smoker and five stacked cigarettes are "striking" to say the least. Measuring 6.5" x 18.5", the Zig-Zag ad boasts "THE BEST CIGARETTE PAPER MADE IN FRANCE." There is some history written in pen on the back and it is in VG-EX condition.
