1941 Joe DiMaggio 56-Game Hitting Streak Stopped Ticket

1941 Joe DiMaggio 56-Game Hitting Streak Stopped Ticket

The world stopped and DiMaggio stopped. This Day of Our Lord, July 17, 1941, Joe D. failed invincibility, bringing his impossible 56-game hitting streak to an end. This unbelievable run captivated the country for months and this slab of cardboard laid witness. Cleveland fans saw DiMaggio go hitless against Miracle Worker Ken Keltner and his invulnerable stops at third. Amazing how few of those 67,463 fans saved these. Perhaps there were too many Yankee haters and few collectors back then. Could DiMaggio have had more concern for having blown $10,000 by not making it to #57 and a promotional deal for Heinz 57? Either way, the streak was stopped and tickets for this game are rare. Visually EX-MT and slabbed PSA "Authentic."
