1968 Don Drysdale 58th Scoreless Inning Signed Ticket
For just over 20 years, Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale boasted the major leagues' longest shutout streak, blanking the opposition for 58 innings during the summer of 1968. This lot features a very rare ticket stub from the July 8 game against the Phillies that saw the streak come to an end in the fifth inning. This is the first such stub we can remember handling, and it has been laminated on top of a period photo of Drysdale. The ticket is signed in 7.5/10 blue ballpoint and has tape residue on the right and left edges. Drysdale's streak was eclipsed in 1988 by another Dodgers ace, Orel Hershiser.
