1944 Manuel Ortiz v. Luis Castillo Boxing Glove

1944 Manuel Ortiz v. Luis Castillo Boxing Glove

Here's a classic Everlast leather boxing glove; we are not sure which fighter used this but we hope it was Manuel Ortiz, one of the greatest all time boxers. It is plainly marked inside in vintage fountain pen ink "Ortiz Castillo" from the Mexico City fight in 1944. You can most likely figure which fighter it is with photographic or film research. Considerable ring-use is evident, and this glove is a tangible and historic link to these great fighters from the past. From the collection of the esteemed Helms Hall Sports Museum and will come with letter of provenance/authenticity from Lelands.com.
