1951 Glen Burn Coal Mines Baseball Advertising Sign
The year 1970 marked the 134th and final year of the Glen Burn Colliery in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, but the colliery was quite productive during its heyday. Here's a metal sign from 1951 that uses baseball imagery and the words: "A Ball of Fire" inside a blazing sphere. Measuring 24x18", the 1951 dated advertisement is a product of the Atlantic Coal Company and shows some wear from use.
