1954 Willie Mays Signed Government Postcard
Especially noteworthy Mays signature here, from his only championship season, which he capped with that “a-Mays-ing” over the shoulder catch in the World Series. The government postcard sent to Jim Davidson is postmarked August 15, 1954 from New York, NY and Willie’s signature is not only a gem -- grading a perfect 10/10 in dark blue ink -- but for Mays memorabilia collectors a real find since it’s in a straightforward hand, before Willie began stylizing and the “W” and “M” looked more like “T’s”. Card itself is EX+ with some mild foxing. Vintage Say Hey Kid photo to the left of the signature.
