1955 Mickey Cochrane Hall of Fame Watch

1955 Mickey Cochrane Hall of Fame Watch

One of the greatest catchers ever to play in the major leagues, Mickey Cochrane was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1947. On the occasion of his induction, the Boston Red Sox - a team for whom he never played - awarded him with this Lord Elgin watch with leather band that is in EX condition. The face reads: "BASEBALL HALL OF FAME" and the numbers are replaced by "BOSTON RED SOX." The back is engraved: "Mike Cochrane May 7, 1955." Cochrane, a heavy smoker, died four years later at age 59. The watch's face is loose.
