1986 Dave Parker Silver Slugger Award
He was known as "The Cobra" because he could strike both at the plate and in the outfield with his powerful arm. Dave Parker earned the second of his three Silver Slugger awards in 1986 while with the Reds. Created by the manufacturer of Louisville Slugger bats, this 35"-tall award reads: "HILLERICH & BRADSBY CO. SILVER SLUGGER AWARD PRESENTED TO DAVE PARKER - OF - CINCINNATI REDS MEMBER OF THE SPORTING NEWS NATIONAL LEAGUE OFFENSIVE TEAM 1986 GARY CARTER-C GLENN DAVIS-1B, STEVE SAX-2B, MIKE SCHMIDT-3B, HUBIE BROOKS-SS, TONY GWYNN-OF, TIM RAINES-OF, RICK RHODEN-P." It is in EX condition and obtained directly from Parker himself. The polished aluminum bat is mounted on the wood base. Parker clouted 31 homers and drove in 116 runs while playing all 162 games for the Reds in 1986.
