Outfielder Juan Gonzalez established a career high with 157 RBI in 1998 as the Texas Rangers star won the fifth of his six Silver Slugger awards. Created by the manufacturer of Louisville Slugger bats, this 34.5"-tall award reads: "HILLERICH & BRADSBY CO. SILVER SLUGGER AWARD PRESENTED TO JUAN GONZALEZ - OF - TEXAS MEMBER OF THE SPORTING NEWS AMERICAN LEAGUE OFFENSIVE TEAM 1998 RAFAEL PALMEIRO-1B DAMION EASLEY-2B, ALEX RODRIGUEZ-SS, DEAN PALMER-3B, KEN GRIFFEY, JR.-OF, ALBERT BELLE-OF, IVAN RODRIGUEZ-C, JOSE CANSECO-DH." It is in EX condition with slight tarnishing to the polished aluminum bat. the Louisville Slugger emblem is at the top and comes directly from his personal collection. It is signed on the back of the wood in black ink. "Juan-Gone" batted .318 in 1998 with 45 homers and an AL-best 50 doubles.
