1960 Cassius Clay Olympic Wire Photo (8"x10")

1960 Cassius Clay Olympic Wire Photo (8"x10")

One of the most important Cassius Clay photos he have ever offered is this breathtaking image of the young champion at the 1960 Olympics in Rome. Original British wire photograph is stamped on the back by United Press International. Far superior to the American version, it is on heavier stock, higher quality more luxurious paper. Original caption on the verso reads, "Contender for the World Title?...American Light Heavyweight CASSIUS CLAY is seen in action in Rome, Italy, during the Olympic boxing tournament last September. Clay, a Negro, is reckoned by experts to be a serious contender sometime in the future...2nd June 1961." An understatement of magnificent proportions. Minor creases o/w EX.
