Circa 1974 Muhammad Ali Worn Training Gloves

Circa 1974 Muhammad Ali Worn Training Gloves

Presented are a pair of heavily worn sixteen ounce sparring gloves used by Muhammad Ali during training. These black leather gloves were made by TUF-WEAR and still have their label on each wrist. Completely intact with the original laces. Slight leather surface loss at the wrists due to the application of tape. These gloves come from the collection of Ali's sparring partner, Eddie "Bossman" Jones who was given the gloves by the champ. Jones sparred with Ali in preparation for Ali's fight with George Foreman in 1974. LOA from long-time Ali collector who acquired the gloves, as well as an LOA from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc. who researched the gloves expressly for this sale. Numerous photographs of Ali wearing TUF-WEAR gloves in training were found by Hamilton in the course of his research.
