1960s Whitey Ford New York Yankees Game Worn Hat (MEARS)

1960s Whitey Ford New York Yankees Game Worn Hat (MEARS)

Throughout the 1960s, the most celebrated starting pitcher in Yankees history, Whitey Ford, wore this classic Yankees cap with interlocking NY and hand-written #16 under the brim. Shows heavy use to the extent that the inside band is loose, while the original Tim McAuliffe tag is intact. A terrific artifact from another Bronx Bomber dynasty. The following items were obtained from the players themselves by a former umpire who was an early collector of game worn material. He had displayed his items with small typed descriptions of the items so that all friends and visitors would know what they were looking at. Most of the items come with the original, vintage typed cards that were displayed with the items.
