1961 Patterson-London One-of-A-Kind Original Art Prototype Fight poster
This marvelous quality piece promoting the title fight between champ Floyd Patterson and challenger Brian London is mounted on very heavy artist's board. It is all hand-lettered with real photos, and notes the bout on May 1, 1959 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds which was won by Patterson by knockout in defense of his heavyweight title. It is vintage signed by London, "To Floyd Patterson, The best fighter in the world and I hope you keep it for a long time to come." Also signed by Capitol Photographers head, inscribed and dated from the night of the fight. Measures 20x16", there is a crease down center but the black and white images of the combatants are very vivid.
