1964 Richie Allen Topps All-Star Rookie Award
This is the actual award presented to its 1964 National League honoree Richie Allen, who compiled one of the most dominant seasons any major league rookie ever has achieved, leading the league in runs (125), triples (13), extra-base hits (80) and total bases (352); he finished in the top five in batting average (.318), slugging average (.557), hits (201), and doubles (38). The 11"-tall trophy is wood-based with a bronze figure swinging a bat on top of a top hat. A plaque attached to the base reads: "TOPS ALL STAR ROOKIE YOUNG AMERICA'S FAVORITE RICHIE ALLEN PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES THIRD BASE 1964." It is in EX condition and comes with a 1964 photo of Allen and Minnesota's Tony Oliva, the America League recipient, with their awards. The Topps Awards are very tough to find (only a few have been sold) and are doubly desirable because of their obvious connection with the historic baseball card manufacturer.
