1970's Muhammad Ali Training Worn Everlast Trunks
Muhammad Ali fought George Foreman on October 30, 1974 in Kinshasa. Ali knocked Foreman out in the 8th round to win the World Heavyweight Title for the second time in his career. Presented here are training trunks which were worn by Muhammad Ali at his training center in Deer Lake, Pennsylvania, in preparation for his championship fight with George Foreman. These trunks are white satin with black trim on the waistband and on each leg. On the center waistband there is a manufacturer's label for Everlast. Included on that label is the logo, "Made Expressly For Muhammad Ali." The trunks have some fading from age. There is very minor spotting. The trunks came from long time Ali collector Pete Morkovin. Pete Morkovin visited the Muhammad Ali training site at Deer Lake in the summer of 1974 and took these trunks right off the ring post which is where they were placed after Ali was done training for the day. LOA from Pete Morkovin and from Craig Hamilton of JO Sports, Inc.
