1970 Isle of Wight Autograph Sheets w/Jimi Hendrix Joined by The Who (Direct Provenance)
Rock legends abound in this framed display of autographs collected at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, featuring one of the last Jimi Hendrix signatures obtained. The festival was a three-day extravaganza consisting of some of the most famous acts of the era and is considered to be the biggest musical event of its time, with more attendees than Woodstock. The autographs were obtained by a man who worked as a steward at the event tasked with admitting the artists from backstage to an area in front of the stage to watch other performers. The signatures include, Hendrix, Joan Baez, Richie Havens, John Sebastian, Tiny Tim, Keith Moon, Pete Townsend and Roger Daltrey. Hendrix died just two weeks after the festival, thus making his autograph one of the last acquired. Some signatures appear faded, and the collection has been framed with an authentic set of three unused tickets from the show and a poster printed later. The display measures 22x27" and comes with an LOA from Paul Wane of Tracks Ltd. and the consignor.
