1982-83 Cracker Jack Classic Game-Worn Uniforms (3)
From 1982 to 1985, Cracker Jack sponsored a five-inning Old Timers' Classic at RFK Stadium in Washington. Hall of Famer Red Schoendienst played in the first two such exhibitions, and wore the items offered here, including hat, jersey, pants and stirrups from each game, all showing use (some great dirt stains on one pant, in particular). The lot also includes two posters advertising the games, as well as some paper ephemera including programs and press releases. There are two white jerseys and one gray that read: "NATIONAL" on the front and "SCHOENDIENST 2" on the reverse along with a Cracker Jack Old Timers Baseball Classic patch on the sleeve. Two have a Rawlings patch on the opposite sleeve and there are Rawlings size 46 tags on the tails (inside on one, outside on the other) and in the collar. All three jerseys are signed on the front by Red in 9/10 blue Sharpie. There are two pairs of white pants and one gray. They feature blue waistbands and Rawlings Size 40 tags, as well as a white, script "R" in a red circle on the front thigh. The caps (two white with mesh back, one solid navy with white "N") all show use.
