19th Century "Sheb'n Boys" Identified Baseball Tintype

19th Century "Sheb'n Boys" Identified Baseball Tintype

From the early days if baseball comes this terrific tintype of an 1880s-era ballplayer dressed in a high-collared, lace-up jersey, white hat, knickers and socks. The bat he's holding reads: "Sheb'n Boys," which is almost definitely an abbreviation for the Wisconsin city of Sheboygan. The image is clear and clean, with some minor creasing. It does not come with a frame of any kind. It measures roughly 3.25" x 2.5". EX condition overall.
