"B. Thoughtful" 1977 Oak Leaf Stakes Silver Trophy w/Gold Wash by Tiffany
This gorgeous silver trophy with gold wash was presented to B. Thoughtful as the winning entry as engraved, "Oak Leaf Stakes October 30, 1977, $100,000 One Mile and One- Sixteenth." Standing 12" tall, it has Tiffany & Co. maker's mark and serial number also engraved. Run at Santa Anita since 1969, that race is now called the Chandelier Stakes, a Grade 1 race currently part of the Breeders Cup Challenge series. The winner automatically qualifies for the Breeders Crown juvenile fillies race. B. Thoughtful had a storied career, winning eight stakes races in California between 1977 and 1979.
