Babe Siebert Signed Handwritten Postcard, Photos and Telegram
Telegram and postcard sent by Hockey Hall of Famer Babe Siebert to Audry McMorran, his mistress. The Canadian National Telegraph and Cable Company telegram is from 1937. There are several folds in the telegram, otherwise EX. The postcard is a color picture of Versailles, France, written in Babe Siebert's own hand in bold clear black ink, with the signature graded a 9. The postcard, sent in 1938, is EX. The two black and white photos of Babe were taken at the lake where he drowned in 1939. One image, 2" x 4" is of Siebert standing in a boat. The second image, 1 1/2" x 4" is Siebert sitting in a boat. On the back of this in pencil is "Babe Siebert 1937-38." Both images appear to have been cut from a larger photograph and are in GD condition with several slight creases. Accompanying this lot is a 1" x 3" paper Christmas gift tag in Babe's hand in black ink and signed by him "Gambini." The tag is EX with the signature grading 9/10. All of these items come from the family of his former mistress. Siebert is a very tough autograph as he died in 1939.
