Baseball Sheet Music with Handwritten Presentation to 1867 Florence Eagles

Baseball Sheet Music with Handwritten Presentation to 1867 Florence Eagles

“Catch It On The Fly” sports a wonderful early baseball engraving. Imprinted at top it is dedicated “To the Excelsior Club of Chicago and Forest City Club of Rockford, Ill.” Most interestingly, handwritten at top right is “A.G. Hill from A.N.M. For Eagle Club.” This refers to Arthur G. Hill of the 1867 Florence Eagles of Northampton, Massachusetts, the championship team of Western Massachusetts. Has to be 1867 as music is dated 1867 and Eagles folded after 1867 season. Hill later went on to become mayor of Northampton. This is signed by A.N.M. and we are not sure yet who this is. But it is a wonderful query. From a bound volume hence it is slightly trimmed and with sewing marks. About 13x10”.
