Boxing Memorabilia With Marciano, Ali and others.
Autographed poster of heavyweight champs and framed Rocky Marciano tribute are the knockout items in this boxing cache. Sandwiching a photo of Marciano crushing Jersey Joe Walcott's face in their 1953 rematch is a ticket to the fight with stub intact and a personal check Marciano wrote to "cash" in 1965. He signed it Rocky Marciano but in the upper left is printed his true Italian name, Rocco Marchegiano. The 20- by 10-inch photo, apparently from a publication, is creased down the middle but is artfully placed in a cratered frame with red and white trim. The entire tableau has been lovingly put together for a collector to cherish. Black wood-framed "Champions Forever" poster features Muhammad Ali and rival Joe Frazier exchanging playful glances, plus Ken Norton, George Foreman and Larry Holmes. All in tuxedoes, all autographing in gold pen. Except for a sliver cut into the image on the lower left, 20-by-30 is in great shape. Both Marciano and champions poster have hanging wire in back for display. Last item is United Press International 7-by-9 of Frazier landing a left hook to Ali's kisser en route to unanimous 15-round decision to keep his title, March 9, 1971. The border is uneven but the image is a winner.
