Cassius Clay and Muhammad Ali Signatures (4)
Amazing collection of Ali autographs includes one of the rarest Ali commodities around -- an April 14, 1980 full-page SI photo of him signed with a retroactive "Cassius Clay"! Two others are embellished with (grab onto something) smiley faces! Clearly, Ali had mellowed when he wrote on an 8 x 10" piece of cardboard in black marker, "To George from Muhammad Ali, Service to others is the rent we pay for our room here on Earth" with the signature above and smiley face below. (Could it have been George Foreman?) Also an 8 x10" b&w of a classic Ali pose, reading "Collin, Hope to see & meet you" with the signature above in green marker. A more characteristic inscription is on a mounted 8 x10 overhead shot of him, arms raised, after KO'ing Cleveland Williams -- "After me there will never be another 3 times H.W. champ" with the signature above in blue ink. "Clay" signature in blue ink. All signatures and pieces NRMT.
