The Bullpen Room on the Suite Level of Busch Stadium rightfully honored the two greatest game-closers in Cardinals’ history – and two of the best ‘pen men in big league history – by placing these two sharp framed color photos of Dennis Eckersley and Bruce Sutter on the walls, suitable for gawking. Though each of their stints in St. Louis was relatively brief – Sutter from 1981-85 and Eckersley in 1996-97 – they left their mark. Sutter (one of the few relievers to win a Cy Young Award, with the Cubs in ’79), racked up the Rolaids Relief Award three times, saved 36 games in the championship year of ’82 and 45 in ’84. “The Eck”, at the tail end of his Hall of Fame career, rang up an “S” 66 times in his two seasons. The photos show each of them in their hirsute glory on the hill during games, with the images mounted against a beige matte with plaques underneath identifying them and surrounded by gold frames. Eckersley piece is 38 x 49”, Sutter piece is 28 x 38”. Both are EX-MT. (Estimate $400 - $600)
