Giant Stan Musial Photo from Grand Slam Room
Stan Musial’s image seemed to be everywhere you looked inside and outside Busch Stadium, and none of those treasured echoes of the greatest Cardinal of all offered a more imposing or revealing glimpse of the man behind The Man than this large-sized, 38 x 49” framed photo. Unlike nearly all the other Musial photos, this one shows a mature Man, circa the early ‘60s, his face etched with lines of age, wisdom and perhaps a bit of fleeting weariness as he kneels in the Polo Grounds. His arms are folded, a bat propped under his left arm, as he looks pensively out over the field on which he would once again be spending a long afternoon. The gold-framed photo is matted against a beige background with a plaque on the bottom center reading “Stan Musial”. EX-MT condition. <br>(Estimate $300 - $500)
