Rich and luxurious, this blacklight poster in brilliant day-glo neon boasts delicate artistry and simply stunning design. Colors are bright and rich, and on par with some of the best poster graphics you will ever see. Original and a first printing, this promoted Janis Joplin at the 1969 Atlanta Pop Festival, only one month before Woodstock. That glorious festival was held on July 4th-5th at the Atlanta International Raceway and also featured none other than Led Zeppelin. There is only one other version of this poster known at a smaller size of 20x30", in this version the poster itself is approximately 21x36" and overall with matting 25x40". The previous version brought over $8,300 at auction without the matte, but this one is matted and we believe mounted on foamcore, which should be is easily removable. There is some water staining in the titles at bottom but it is otherwise in EX condition. This truly belongs in the pantheon of psychedelic art, a great find in the poster world and in the world of Janis.
