Ferdie Shupp Collection Including Babseball Ephemera and Personal Items

This lot contains a variety of items from the collection of Ferdie Schupp, whose 10-year career spanned from 1913-22. There is a wall plaque from the Southern California Hot Stove League honoring Schupp “For Outstanding Performance”; a Sporting News from January 25, 1945 (torn in half); what appears to be a negative image of a page from that edition, featuring Schupp; a badly torn page from a 1957 edition of the Kansas City Star; a 1938 book entitled “Major League Baseball,” a 1918 National League rule book (covers are blank), with handwritten notes; article clippings; and even a copy of Schupp’s birth certificate, his Social Security & Health Insurance card with signature, his Arizong drivers licence! There is also a ball that was signed by Schupp as well as Babe Ruth, but Ruth’s signature faded and was traced over.
