Helms Museum Boxing Collection (10)
Some of this is unknown and unmarked but all are from the Helms Hall Sports Museum; the unknown equipment is from professional or major fighters. 1-2) Two pairs of 1933 heavy leather "Sol Levinson" worn leather boxing gloves with some breaking in the pads of the palm, otherwise EX condition. 3) Pair of worn leather boxing shoes with laces. 4) Willie Pep's actual socks with the original Helms inventory tag from the 1940s. 5) Everlast single boxing glove in well worn condition. 6-9) Two sets of professional leather Tuf-Wear headgear from 1992, matching pair of Tuf-Wear professional boxing gloves and "Ringside" crotch protector. Could be from the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. 10) Handsome 1949 boxing award (10.5x13") presented to George V. Blake in 1949 in brass and wood from the Loyola Boxing Club. George Blake officiated some of the most famous bouts of the 1920s and 1930s including Max Schmeling vs. Young Stribling, Joe Louis vs. Jack Roper, and Jimmy McLarnin vs. Young Corbett III. From the collection of the esteemed Helms Hall Sports Museum and will come with letter of provenance/authenticity from Lelands.com. NOTE: Some or all of these pieces could very well be from major fighters, major events, or from a special "famous" donor. Many of the Helms pieces were unidentified with their source information having been lost through the years. However, through photo analysis we were able to prove things previously unidentified by Helms to be very important artifacts. Do your own research and you may have some real treasures.
