Janet Guthrie's Racing Jacket

Janet Guthrie's Racing Jacket

Janet Guthrie was a true pioneer, becoming the first women ever to qualify for both the Indianapolis and Daytona 500 races. This jacket, which shows nice use, features logo patches from Good Year, Valvoline, Bryant and Paragon Motor Speedway in Indiana. There is also a JANET name patch on the left chest, as well as two pockets with snaps and two zippered pockets. Three red patches on the back read VOLLSTEDT BRYANT INDY RACERS. A former aerospace engineer, Guthrie began racing in 1963 and competed in NASCAR Sprint Cup events during the late 1970s.
