Lusitania ENLIST WWI Recruitment Poster

Lusitania ENLIST WWI Recruitment Poster

This prewar enlistment poster by Fred Spear, is a moving depiction of an ethereal and innocent woman victim of the Lusitania, who holds her baby tight as she sinks further into the ocean depths. This haunting image was used to fire the hearts of the masses and get the young men to ENLIST. This is the most fabled and valuable of all the WWI, posters with a value of $25,000 or more. This first design, with finer printing, is considered more valuable than the larger format second issue, due to the quality of the artwork and lithography. The poster has deep, rich colors, is in beautiful condition although there is some restoration.
