Muhammad Ali vs. Jimmy Ellie On-Site Fight Poster
Very rare on-site poster from the Ali-Ellis fight at the Astrodome on July 26, 1971 echoes Ali's vow to keep on fighting and recapture the crown after losing his epic bout with Joe Frazier 4 months earlier. The poster could even call it "The Battle of the Heavyweight Champs!" since both he and Ellis owned cheese titles of one kind or another. Poster is blue with the fighters' names in yellow and reflects the circus nature of the Ali caravan with extra attractions like an "Unbelievable 'Ali' Fashion Parade" and "Record favorites in a live, 45 minute rock concert before the main go!" 10 3/4 x 14" and VG with extensive damage of the borders and back and water discoloration mostly at the bottom. A terrific period piece of early '70s Ali memorabilia.
