New York Knicks Jacket Given to The Original Knicks Players Closing Night of the Garden 1968

New York Knicks Jacket Given to The Original Knicks Players Closing Night of the Garden 1968

On February 10, 1968, the closing night of the old Madison Garden, members of the original 1946-47 New York Knicks team were welcomed back as honorary guests, and they were given these jackets as well as a clock (which is offered in another lot) to commemorate the occasion. This heavy wool jacket has a Gerry Cosby tag in the collar and is dark blue with a blue-and-orange trim. The back of the jacket reads “Original Knicks” in large, white lettering, with “1946-1947” stitched in orange lettering between the two words. This jacket provides a rare opportunity to acquire a Knicks item that we have never seen before. This jacket is in simply beautiful condition with one pin-sized hole on the back of the collar noted for accuracy only.
